    I would love to have it in the middle but I have a beam. The width of the garage is 26 feet. Can you hit wedges if screen is only 8 feet tall? I was going to hit from 9 feet out and put mevo + 8 feet from ball.

    This is where the corner is at about 7 feet 8 inches. I could dormer up to 10 feet but it would slope from 7.8 until I get to 10 feet. It would mean about 75% of the screen would be 10 feet than it would have to angle down with the roof pitch for the rest of it..

    Can you dormer up one side and hit balls in the direction shown? Then you could have a ~9.5’H rectangular screen, 9.5’ from ball to screen, and ~7’ behind ball to left side of garage.

      Thanks for the response. Very Interesting idea. The only issue is that I have a huge LVL header smack in the middle that is 20.5 in by 5.5 in.
      From the ground you hit the header at 6 ft 9 inches.
      I have a mevo plus so I need the 8 feet behind the ball.

        Hit the same direction as the lvl beam. I can't picture clearly need more pics/ dimensions. I'm contractor, I can figure this out! Plus, I stayed in a Holiday inn Express last night. Trying to figure out why that beam is inset where its located .Is the area where the cars park open to the bottom of the rafters ?Is that area basically a loft? Some pics of the space with the garage doors open and the attic area.

            Wow that is some serious structural overkill. Here is what I would say:

            Your projected image needs to be rectangular.
            You need at least a 12’W cage to receive balls if you’re willing to hit “offset” ~1’ from center of screen, but you probably only need 10’W to swing the club
            You need at least 8.5’ to 9’ in height (mostly behind you) to safely hit irons and more to hit driver.
            You need at least 16”D to 17’D from wall behind screen to rear of hitting area (allowing 12” from screen to wall for bounce back safety)

            So maybe you could;
            Hit balls towards the left garage door and parallel to the LVL (thus giving vertical headroom behind a right handed golfer)
            Dormer up to create a 9’H x 10’W x 17’D area for you to safely swing a club
            Hang a 9’H x 10’W screen but create a cage around it that comes out toward the golfer by ~4’ on top/left/right sides — include ceiling protection and angled “wings” that give at least 12’W capture area for balls

              My 2 cents. Hit parallel with the lvl beam (as above.). Remove the floor joists above the hitting area, box in the area as you would any penetration,Like a stairwell from 1st to second floor for example, or a large skylight. Attic area, frame the perimeter of the the opening with some stud walls for safety. Not sure where those little knee walls in attic are located relative to the area below, will they be in the way ? .With the size of the roof rafters I don't think if you removed part of the wall it would be an issue. As David said that framing is "very stout" ! If it was my house, I would probably just take out 5 full joists and call it a day ! Sorry for my disjointed reply,I'm in brainstorming mode with just myself !
