Which launch monitor for me? GC3 not cutting it.

To preface all of this, i need a LM for outdoor use only with range balls that is relatively accurate.

I had purchased a mevo plus with pro pack a year back, i liked it didnt love it, eventually got tired of the inaccurate date… weird spin #s, AOA never consistent, set up a bit finicky, path #s varied. But for the money its a great unit and would work well for alot of golfers. But i wanted something better…

Decided to buy a gc3 got a good deal on a used one with a license, fully unlocked. Bring it to range and spin is really low. Wedges are 2-4000rpm, irons about 1,000rpm low, driver carry number low. Contacted foresight was instructed to update unit, i did. Still same results. Whats weird is even with a premium new ball, lob wedge only spun at 4500.

so is there a LM for outdoor use with range balls that is relatively accurate? Or is this a fantasy?

The GC3 reading low spin numbers is a range ball issue.

This is the answer. GC3 is accurate as hell. If spin is low, it's the ball. If you can, take it with you to the course and use it on a good sampling of shots - play a practice round with a quality golf ball. You'll see the difference.

Because the Rapsodo MLM2Pro needs RPT balls to measure spin, it's not an option for the range, however, I have used the GC Quad at my local club for the past 3 years and recently bought the MLM2Pro for $950 CAD and it is an absolutely incredible launch monitor for the price. The numbers are extremely close and for the price point, I can't recommend the MLM2Pro launch monitor highly enough.

As others have posted we hate to be the bearer of bad news but it’s a range ball issue. This is why after any research you will find recommendations of not being fit with range balls. Some of it is definitely the ability to deliver the club correctly but you are going to find a ton of inconsistency with range balls.

I would be willing to bet both of those launch monitors were giving you accurate data. Poor musicians blame the instrument.

I thought foresight products are the most accurate and many users on this forum use these devices to compare other LM's data parameters. If, the GC3 is not working for you maybe you need to get a Trackman or GC Quad.
Have you tested the GC3 with your regular ball you play with during a round as it's easy to bring around.

Crappy balls give crappy results. Indoors I get 1/3 the spin with wedges using a non urethane cheap ball vs a premium ball with my skytrak. I wouldnt expect much out of range balls.
