Help with first sim build - wall mounting with slight diagonal offset

I’m a relative novice here and was hoping some of you who are more experienced could help validate my thinking around my first indoor sim build. I just moved houses and the garage has some swing clearance, so I’m looking to substitute/upgrade the Mevo+ setup I had in my former backyard - the space just barely works, but hoping to make the most with what I’ve got.

I’d done some measurements and was envisioning putting a ~8’x10’ retractable screen (118” Metech impact drive w poly spacer) and 2 retractable side curtains at the end of the space pictured below (ignore the metal bar, hanging lights and any other impediments as those will be removed). However, once I got moving boxes unpacked enough to explore the space a bit more I realized that in order to freely clear the storage rafters (and attached electrical) I would need to shift my hitting area rightward to the extent that I would be considerably off-center from the screen wall.

As a pivot, I resolved myself to shifting my hitting mat and tilting it slightly diagonally in order to create safe clearance for my swing while still trying to center myself generally on the projection area. I plan to ceiling mount a short throw projector approximately above my hitting area and will have ~8’ from Mevo+ to hitting area, 8’ from hitting area to screen, and 12-16” screen to wall clearance.

My question is this: Is there any reason that I can’t customize the L brackets for my wall mount to maintain a slight diagonal offset from the wall that is in parallel with the angle of my hitting setup. I haven’t done the math yet, but I don’t think the diagonal angle will be that drastic - in any case, if the left side offset is too far off the wall for a wall-mounted L bracket I could potentially look to mount to the storage rafter instead as needed.

Are there any concerns I’m not fully appreciating? Deal breakers? Would greatly appreciate it if anyone has insights or tips, thanks!

Interesting idea, I haven't seen anyone try it. Most just adjust the on-screen offset so you're ball position on screen lines up with the offset position of your hitting mat.
A couple things come to mind...
      1. Is there enough room to swing in front of you and behind with the tilted angles?
      2. A target line that's angled away from the straight wall in front of you might create/exaggerate an in-to-out swing path. You might start developing the hooks.
