I have just bought a track man io and have been recommended a foresight 2 layer screen. Have no clue as which balls to use? All of the posts i have read lead to Prov 1 but it says on the website that soft balls with a lot of spin (like pro v) increase wear and create burn marks. Can anyone pls help, not bothered about cost as i hope not to lose them and i would rather spend money to save money (if that makes sense). Thanks :-)

best balls to keep screen looking good???

The very first ball (brand new) I ever hit into my brand new Carls Premium screen made a mark. Considering I used a Driver and ball spin was on the lower end of spectrum, I assumed that protecting a screen from wear and tear was impossible and end of life was just a factor I needed to accept. I always start with new balls and inspect/rotate them out regularly, but that really is just adding some months to life span, rather than years.
edit: I do use ProV's, but that is because that is also what I use on course.Last edited by ProjectSim; 07-03-2024, 01:27 AM.

Agree with the post above... the most important thing to keeping your screen looking nice is cleaning your clubs each time. It's amazing how much dirt can transfer from the club to the screen via the ball.
Other than that, just use the balls you use on the course..
What I actually do, is never use new balls on the course now. I have a big ball caddy in the golf sim, which is where I always have around 4 dozen balls in, and I just use the balls at random from there in the sim. Then, when I'm running out of balls in my golf bag for the course, I just top it up from there.
It means you are always using decent balls in the sim, avoiding using old ones with nicks or dirt on them, and also not dunking a brand new ball in the water on the course. Some people might not like that idea, but even a ball that has been used for a good few rounds in the sim will still be in good enough nick for me, at worse some of the logo will have rubbed off, it wont have any dings or nicks out of it like you would get from playing multiple rounds in real life...
