  • Foam for wall paneling/ Golf Sim Build

Nearing the end of my build. Still need to add some protective wall paneling. Looking for some advice on the type of foam to use. Ideally, looking for something that will give the lowest bounce back possible. I'm happy to arrange the upholstery myself (doesn't need to be off the shelf ready). Priority is using foam that's going to absorb the impact and give the lowest bounce back. Attached picture so you can see where the panels will go and any feedback positive/negative is welcome. Screen size, max I could go W- 320cm H- 230. Hight above swing 13ft and distance between hitting an screen I plan 10ft but can go to 13ft if needed. Will be using GC2 for the launch monitor. Also will be adding putting turf around the hitting mat this week, The build is in the attic above garage

There will be bounceback with any upholstered panel as the fabric reduces the absorbtion of the foam. Maybe if you did memory foam with a very soft and flexible fabric and didn't staple too tight?

But bounceback on the walls and ceiling isn't a big deal imo because the ball will just bounce into the screen. I've done eva foam covered with acoustic foam and works ok. The ball still bounces bit looks good and no damage to walls. I sell 20x20" acoustic foam panels.

If you truly want no bounce, curtains are the way to go.
