Removeable padding for a door

Hi, I'm in the planning stages of my sim which is going in a dual-use guesthouse. I have a 32" bathroom door 3 ft back from the screen on the right hand side of my set up. The total depth of the reveal is 3". I was planning to protect the side walls either side of the sim with 2" thick panels that extend back to a depth of 72" Has anyone got any ideas as to how I could create a "removable sheet" (maybe plywood) that I could attach the same panels to that would a) not damage the door and b) be removable when needed? Thanks!

You could cut a 1/4 sheet of plywood the same size as the door, attach two or three door hangers that they make for hanging signs/wreaths to front doors and then glue the padding to the sheet. Then you could slide the whole thing on/off the door when you need to.
