Convince me to keep the mevo plus

I bit the bullet this holiday and got the mevo plus with pro and face impact packages. I only plan to use the LM to dial in shots and improve my swing and chipping. Current set up is outdoor with a mat and hitting into a net 15 ft away so space is not an issue.

Now I'm doing even more research and realize that the mlm2 is scheduled to add club/path data in a few months (for which i'm totally fine with waiting), I wonder if I should return the mevo plus because mlm2 with a lifetime unlock is way less expensive. I wonder if face impact location is the only thing I'd be missing, assuming that mlm2 does add the club/path data in the future. For that price difference I'm willing to let that one go. Also hardware-wise I think mlm2 is a newer device and probably more capable so down the line the possibilities of more stuff to come are greater (would guess technically they would be able to do face impact too).

Am I missing anything important here in this logic? Perhaps rapsodo wouldn't be giving away more capabilities for free (like flightscope's pro pacakge add on) so the real cost would be higher than what it appears right now.

    TIA!

understood. unfortunately i think it's just the impact video, rather than precise stats.

Just joined ... looking into the Mevo + w/o the added packages. So far all research I have done indicates that the Mevo+ is more accurate on carry and total distance numbers than the MLM2pro. Also having no subscription costs the ownership cost over 5 years is very close. Mevo+ at $1900 on sale and no subscription cost ... vs MLM2pro $700 and then $200 a year subscription cost (first year included in purchase) so 5 year cost of $1500. If Mevo accuracy is superior it makes sense as distance numbers are my priority.

Well the Mevo Plus did not work in my garage environment ... new home and 3 car garage built in 2015. One bay is 26' deep by 16' wide and separated from the other 2 by a sheetrock wall ... has been my wood working shop. Now converted 90% to a golf sim area. The Mevo + was anywhere from 25-50 yards off on every single club, except my 52 degree wedge. Covered windows to eliminate glare, concrete floor covered with 1/2" foam tiles and carpet. Nothing made any difference. Must be some interference with the radar from the metal roof or rebar in the concreted block or floor. Now looking at the Bushnell LPi model which, in spite of the subscription issues, appears to be the most accurate option in that $2800 price range.

Well, there's no convincing anyone who has made up their mind so I won't convince you, just share my experience. I am running the Mevo Plus in my basement, with rebar, poles, I beams, I have approximately 21,000 lux of light for swing cameras, and the Mevo plus data is consistent. Radar isn't really affected by the mere presence of metal, it is really affected by moving metal. That being said, I am running the Mevo+ along with a Eye Mini Lite, simultaneously. There is a difference in data, but it's not enough to fret. The Mevo+ is stingy on carry, consistently shorter 4 to 12 yds than the EML. It is also stingy on roll out yards, to a greater extent. The other major difference is the spin data. The EML reports higher side spin every time, but the shot shapes are 90% consistent between the two.

I am using RCT balls, and both are set to the same elevation, that of a local course. I've been testing the Uneekor LM to see if I like the software and performance for my new build this Spring with an overhead LM. If FlightScope had an overhead unit I wouldn't give it a second thought. When I take it to the range it's accurate and super easy to setup. Even after I get the new build done, I'll use the Mevo+ at the outdoor ranges. The reality is there are algorithms and calculations for all LM's that use limited flight data, and there will always be differences between simulation and reality.

This isn't matter of a slight difference between simulation and reality. I was using RCT balls, Mevo Plus 8 feet exactly from my hitting spot, and 11.25 feet from hitting spot to impact screen. Tilt and roll set to specs. It was consistently significantly short on every club ... I am talking about 50 yards short on driver and 35 yards short on 5 wood as an example, which makes it totally worthless for any realistic practice or simulator use. My cousin has one that is working with no major issues. Whatever the issue is in my environment ... it will not work. This has happened to others as well. I watched a video yesterday of a guy who had the Mevo set up along with a GCQuad. They were both showing similar numbers for a lot of measured data ... except carry distance. The Mevo was showing as much as 50 yards short on driver and significant carry short on all other clubs ... compared to the GCQuad (which is the same tech as the Bushnell). Virtually all of the "high tech" more expensive (and more reliable) systems are based on CAMERA technology and not radar. The EML has 2 cameras, the Bushnell LPi and the GCQuad have 3 and some of the high dollar overhead units have 4.

It isn't a matter of "making up my mind". The Mevo Plus didn't work in my environment for some reason and Flighscope accepted the return for full credit. It is something that they have experienced fairly regularly. Really wish it HAD worked as the data points offered are great, along with no subscription, 20 excellent courses via E6 Connect. Great package ... if it works in YOUR location. Can't wait to receive my Bushnell LPi later this week.
