  • Skytrak plus vs mevo plus

Hi guys , just wanted your thoughts on the issue. I have a skytrak OG unit and wanted to upgrade to something a bit more accurate that measures both club and ball data. I am in Canada and can currently get a skytrak plus for $3000 or an older first gen mevo plus for $1700. For me accuracy is number one and ideally would possible like to be able to use it for teaching or club building in the future. I do mainly use my OG ST for indoor practice and TGC2019, even if I could I would rarely talk it to a driving range as all the ranges around me are mat only. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have the new Skytrak+ and I LOVE the club data. It is not as complete as some of the other launch monitors, but I get club path, face path, and the combo - face to path. It has helped me tremendously as now I can see if the issue is club head or path. It would be nice to have angle of attack and and indicator of face contact, but I got a refurb unit for $1999 and I don't need stickers on the clubs. Also, the club head speed is now also radar tracked vs being calculated. I don't think you can beat Skytrak+ for the money. If I had $10K or so that I was willing to spend on a launch monitor, I would buy one of the overhead mounted ones that records every shot so you can see the contact.

I take lessons at Golftec and they own Skytrak so it’s Skytrak+ data I see. I use Mevo+ Limited edition at home in my simulator and at the range.

Mevo+ is the way to go. The club and ball data is extensive, video of contact, ability to add cameras, including your phone, portable and no subscriptions to pay, excellent club data, including accurate face impact.

Outside the distance numbers are really accurate checked with rangefinder. Inside the distance numbers vary between the Mevo+ and Skytrak+, but shot shapes are consistent.

The Mevo+ isn't great for putting, but I practice putting by putting not simulating putting so I'm okay with it.

$ for $ I don't know of another launch monitor that gives players so much data.
