    Here is my plan...

As I said in my introduction thread, I took up golf (on a more serious level than playing once every couple of years) so I could play with my daughter (1 of 3...and the only one who decided she loves golf!) and I am looking for a some hints, tips, and suggestions.

I want to more or less transform my garage into a golf studio. It is your typical attached two car garage with 11 foot ceiling. As of right now, it is stuffed with tools/motorcycles/junk etc

I ordered a storage system called "Saferacks" which will hang from the ceiling over my garage door so I can clear the floor of the junk. I will be installing that today and tomorrow. My goal is to create a hitting cage (for the simulator) and a putting area, which could also be inside the cage if I design it right I guess. My daughter got into golf and started playing competitively (her decision...not dad pushing her into it). The real goal is for to have a place to really be able to work on her game right here at home while having FUN! I have no doubt that playing all these courses is an absolute blast and is better than beating balls any day.

Now I know the Optishot is not going to be the long term option to get this done, but it is the right place to start for us.

So again, I am really starting from scratch. I need the PC, projector, cage, net, screen, putting green, etc. I do already have a realfeel mat (the two part version: stance mat/hitting mat combo) and a Rukket net. I love the idea of the Net Return simulator series, but ugh, $2500 is a lot of scratch without the projector, and I feel like after I week I would feel like the screen was too small.

Would you gentlemen mind offering some tips based on your experience? Also, would you mind posting some pics of your golf studios?

I sincerely appreciate any and all advice.

Your at the right place. You can save a lot of money sourcing the components and building yourself.

The one area I would suggest to build well in case of upgrade is the computer. Look t the edtion on the domputer build by Zmax. I would not recommend the net return based on expense. You can source a csge build on ebay or build yourself. Impact screen go with Protee or HQ from par2pro. Stnce mat and putting area can be economiclly built. Projector depends on what uality and resolution you want. A projector help area will be soon done. As well we will have a section on sim pics.

We have a thread for simulator pics. Just waiting for people start showing off their setups. For an effective but inexpensive cage, search Ebay for batting cage/golf cage corner fittings. They'll come as a set with instructions. You'll need 3/4" electrical conduits from your hardware store. Total cost is less than $100.

Get cheap a net from Ebay to cover the sides, top, and screen area. The top can be a net, tarp, memory foam, etc...

For a starter screen, I would recommend the CDG $300 screen. When you upgrade to the Protee, it will come with a double screen included.
