  • Garage floor not completely level, what to do??

    Hi,
trying to set up an indoor range/simulator but when I put the leveler on the floor it wasn't completely level.... I estimate it's off by 2-3 degree? Any thoughts on what to do? I was thinking possibly making a platform out of plywood and a couple of shims or just accepting it? I'm probably going to use this with a skytrak....

Or should I just accept that it's not level?

I had the same thing and did just what you said with some plywood and shims, then laid the foam workout puzzle piece mats over that and then the green outdoor carpet from home depot on that. I would definitely recommend doing this at least in your hitting and putting area (don't worry too much about the rest of the garage). Otherwise, the putts will have a slight curve on them which doesn't seem to bad at first thought and I thought it wouldn't mater to me....but got real annoying after a while and had to level it out.

I would think front to back it wouldn't matter so much as long as the LM is level to the mat it is sitting on. Now if your talking 2-3 degrees side to side on the mat that might affect side spin numbers.

Yea definitely agree there, you do want your launch monitor as level as possible, but you can always fix that by sticking some papers of whatever under one side of the monitor if your desperate. I was more referring to when you putt and seeing the ball roll in front of you, it is much more aesthetically pleasing to see it rolling straight to where you aimed and not on a slight curve. So leveling out the hitting mat, putting line in front of me and building a little adjustable stand for my skytrak was the best route for me so far and cost much less than leveling out the whole garage would have been.

thanks for all the replies. Initially I thought that I'd construct a net that was 10 deep but now I'm thinking of making it shorter like 5-6 foot. I'm hoping that that part of the floor will be level. Otherwise I'll look into the plywood or another space...

All garage floors should have some slope on them to direct snow melt/drainage out the door.

Not sure it matters too much tho, doesn't skytrak have an accelerometer to negate a small degree of slope?
