Skytrak Question

Hi All

So I am looking to move to a really nice Home Simulator setup, Skytrak and Protee both interest me. My ultimate goal is like everyone elses im sure. Accuracy and Fun. So I see both will let me play "The Golf Club" game which looks amazing. So that aside. I see 2 things with SkyTrak that make me hesitate but just want to know the latest info. See below please and TY in advance.

1 ) Is the Driver and 3 Wood "off a bit" and not 100% accurate like I see the Irons stated to be?

2) Utilizing the TGC game is there still and will there always be a slight "delay" of shot on screen from my actual shot? On the ST build in range, is this also the same?

I am assuming the ST with TGC package would get me club path (in-out etc) as well as everything else or is that an addition camera or something?

Maybe when I see TGC showing club path that was with the Protee $6k version? Is Protee Supposed to be a much better platform than the Skytrak? Is club path add on planned for ST by chance? or is Protee $4,000 more due to it being superior? and im not bashing anything I want ST but will get PT if its simple to setup and also gives Club Data..

Skytrak does not measure any club info... Period.

All you're seeing in that graphic is a meaningless assumption, based on the measured ball data. Think nothing of it.

Even though it shows club path with Skytrak, it is not accurate. I think it tries to calculate a club path assuming the face is square based on the ball's launch direction (left/right).

Basically, Skytrak only measures ball parameters. Only having ball parameters is sufficient for simulation. After all, the ball flight doesn't care how you deliver the club, only how the ball reacts to being hit (ball speed, spin, launch angle, etc).
Protee measures club parameters, and can measure the ball direction if you have the add on cameras. It calculates what the ball should do based on the club path. Most people are happy with the accuracy of the calculation, but it is only a calculation. If you are working on your swing, some people would argue that having club data is more useful than ball data.

One other thing to consider is the permanence of your setup. The Skytrak is easier to set up and take down, could be taken to the driving range, and does not require specialized lighting. Protee is able to do left/right handed though, and once you get the initial set up done you shouldn't have to mess with it. I don't think you can go wrong with either route.

Cant see why I would spend $4k extra for something that seems to need more "setup" time as well.. hhmm still not an easy decision. it seems Protee would be more for "getting better"? maybe.. even shot shaping?>... tough decisions to be had.

In fairness, a better price comparison would be the $3k Protee package that includes a sensor mat, vertical launch camera, lights, and TGC. With the Skytrak, you will still need to spend $1k to buy TGC. So those two are basically the same price. The $6k Protee base pack 2 also includes the horizontal launch camera, putting sensor, and an impact screen. I'm sure the extra camera and putting sensor add to the experience, but I don't believe they are absolutely necessary and could be added on later. The impact screen would be needed with either system if you plan on using with a projector.

Oh yes for sure.. I wasn't even aware of a $3k package so Yes same price in that regard.. so it comes down to the cameras of the ST or the lights of the PT.. that will have to be decided with the room I can get going for this... Thinking of building a dedicated shed for this experience.
