Recommend a budget golf simulator

Hi guys,

I was after a little bit of advice. I have some space in my garden where I've built my very own budget golf net for foam/practice balls.

Was wondering if someone could recommend me a cheap but decent golf simulator I could have fun with? I don't mind only playing at night or using outdoor light (as see on the wall in the image)

SkyTrak - has all sim options, works indoor and outdoors and works ok w foam/practice balls (w almostgolf balls distances prob ~10% off, w qolf balls heard might be more accurate than almostgolf balls).

I've heard that SkyTrak doesn't work properly with foam or practice balls. I have heard that optishot works with foam balls, because it tracks the clubhead, not the ball. But there are many who dispute whether it's a "decent" simulator. SkyTrak is good with real balls, which wouldn't work for you unless you could set up a golf net and an ipad/laptop outside where you are shown practicing.

Thanks for the replies. I'm afraid I cannot use real balls because of the damage a bad shot could do and my neighbors are a little grumpy.

Seems like Optishot 2 is your only alternative. Search for some reviews.

I just looked up some reviews of Optishot 2 - while it does use foam balls, I also read reviews complaining that it doesn't work outdoors

Skytrak works just fine with plastic Qolf balls. The distances will be slightly longer, but not enough to prevent the simulation from being believable. But definitely use real balls for short chips and putting.

Also, stay away from Optishot. It's just a toy.

Any reviews complaining the Optishot doesn't work outdoors just shows the reviewer doesn't have a clue since the Optishot wasnt designed to work outdoors. Optishot clearly says it won't and in fact it doesn't. So definitely not viable here.
