Whats is your main reason for buying a sim, and whats the benefit

I think the range every day you get to the burned out factor hitting the ball at the same space would eventually take the fun out of the game for me, where with the sim you get opportunity for different shots, different courses and different challenges while improving your game while still in some way being at a mini driving range..

I started playing golf 2 years ago. Last year my average score was in the high 90s. On fathers day 2015 i desighted to buy a skytrak mainly because i'm travelling a lot and don't get much time to play at home. I played a few rounds on the sim last winter at home (Germany). Also mid 90s. Then in spring this year i went to Washington for a few month. Shot my first round in the 80s on a real course in llike April. Came back to Germany in June and have been playing at least the TGC tounament rounds each week. Love my skytrak and TGC. Righ now I'm disapointed shooting a 85 hahahaha. Have been shooting in the low to mid 80s and even broke into the 70s for the first time a few weeks ago. The biggest improvement that skytrak and sim play gave me was ball striking. I used to hit soooo many fat shots and now i'm down to like 10 % . Also since i tape my rounds i can watch my swing and change stuff. so easy to see the effect of minor changes in your swing or setup. Went from a 220 yard big slice with a baseball swing to a 260 yard slight draw . So bottom line it is great to have a sim at home where i can play the BMW championship at Home watching the Pros on TV at 11 pm with a cold beer hahahahahah

Fantastic to have all these feedback. Lot of discussions about specification & technoly about sim and so few about these two primary questions (imo).

Glad to see too that there is not only 0-5 index who pulled the trigger on this stuff & enjoy it.

Please, dont hesitate sharing again, I am pretty sure I am not the only one interested by all your main reason of buying and the benefit (or lack of it ^^) since you got it.

I've been playing golf for about 30 years now since I was a wee boy. I've never really had much in the way of tuition, so am pretty inconsistent. I did manage to go from a 23 handicap down to 12 over the last few of years.
In the last 12 months, I've started again and am working with Paul Lawries old coach to re-develop my swing. It all feels totally alien to me - trying to swing without bending my arm and using my hips for power etc. Some big changes and some small, but I'll get there in the end!

The only way to really improve your game is through tuition and practice - so my aim is to use my GC2 to practice... and hopefully get a single figure handicap within the next year!!
