  • Need design help

    Hi everyone. I am PGA teaching professional. I am making an indoor training studio. I have just under 1000 sq feet. The garage is 35' by 27'. The ceilings are 10'6" I have included a diagram picture below.

    These are the things I want included:
    2 hitting bays
    Small Putting area
    Small exercise area
    Small Receiving area (Few seats or couch).
    I want to put TVs for video and Launch (Flightscope) on wall. At a later date I will want a projector and screen.

    Some things to consider. You will see I have 2 garage doors and the garage railings on the inside come down 18 inches or so. I am willing to not use one of the doors and at least temporarily leave that door down and remove the railings to create a little more ceiling space to hit from under. I do want the hitting bays to be 23Feet deep for the Flightscope. 10 ft behind tee and 13 ft of ball flight. I want to be able to do faceon and down the line video with iphone or ipad (120fps to 240fps)

    Any design help?

    With that much room you don't need help. Make each bay 15x23 and you'll be glad you did

        I am taking out the lights and putting in recessed LEDs so that I can take some decent high speed video.

        Thanks

          I will be taking out all the shelving as well, obviously.
          Thanks

            Those doors look like they are metal. If you plan to keep them, then I would suggest hitting away from the doors to the wall. The location of the door might be dictating this, but just a suggestion as I had trouble with TM picking up the odd ball because of metal garage doors (they are too reflective). I would also take down the metal door rails so that people can feel like they are able to swing freely.

              Currently I am thinking either: putting one hitting bay on each side and swing from the middle long the 35ft side. <-------- --------->
              Or use the entire 27ft and put 2 stalls on one side
              ----------------->
              ------------------>

              I dont think there would be enough room to swing towards or away from the garage doors.

                well you have no really obstructions in furnaces and hot water heater, that's good what I see if you take that 27 feet and take 14 feet of it at the back wall that would give you a 14x35 run and if you put the screens on opposite walls you would just have to divide space accordingly that would keep the garage rails out of play and leave you a 13 x 25 for the remainder, but that is just an option you should take all the options and look into all comments and lay it out

                  I would suggest getting the high lift rails added to your garage doors, this way you can take the doors all the way up to the ceiling. Even though it sounds like you have a lot of room and you do, it might be tough to get all the stuff you've listed in there. I'm bored, so I'll give it a shot.

                  I'm assuming you'll only have one flightscope, and the area will need to accommodate both left and right handed players. So that area alone will be 15' x 24'(using 1' behind net/screen). You could block off this size in the top left corner or your diagram. Your FS will be sitting out in open space though so maybe put in a half wall directly behind this station and put the FS against the wall. You could put your monitors against the left wall then for analysis. Then put your second station to the right of this at a smaller width and then just move the mat left or right depending upon player. Also, instead of having this be 13' from the net, just make this one 9' from net to hitting location. Now in the bottom left corner of your diagram you can put your exercise area, it would be about 10' x 17' or however long or short you want to go towards your entry door. Then behind hitting station number 2, you could put in a 10' x 10' putting green. This will leave about a 10' x 10' space at your entry door in the bottom right of your diagram. Place for benches/coats/crap, etc

                  Maybe a picture would have been easier.
