  • SkyTrak Garage Simulator Buildout: Need Help Suggestions

    Hello All,

Well I am finally getting closer to finally being able to build out a simulator in my garage. I have questions like most people do. I will post what components I have, and will need and think I might get. Any suggestions would be helpful. This will be a Left Hand Only Bay and I realize I will most likely have to hit off center because of space issues. Thanks In Advance.

    Items I have:

    Projector: BenQ W1070 1080P

    Gaming PC:
    Windows 10
AMD FX 6300 Overclocked to 4.30GHZ
    8GB RAM
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 960

    Items I need:
SkyTrak will Purchase Game Improvement with JNPG to start

    Hitting Mat:
Still researching, Looking at possibly this combo.

We specialize in Golf Mats, Nets, Cages and Training Aids for every aspect of your game! We have everything from Golf Mats, Golf Nets, Golf GPS, Putting Greens and Putting Training Aids, all at great prices and fast delivery! Everything Golf for Less. DWQuailGolf.com

Need something that I can lay flat on the concrete in the garage. Possibly will build a platform, but this might then cause issues with ceiling height.

    Impact Screen:
Was thinking of possibly doing Archery Netting from West Coast Netting, Until I can afford a nice impact screen. I don't need a crazy good picture right now.

    Cage:
Was thinking 8x8 and have it come out 3 feet on the sides to provide safety from possible shanks.

    Hitting Space Dimensions
    16'x10-12'x8'6"
Again I know I will most likely have to hit off center. Hitting position will be approx 7-9 feet from impact screen. Water Heater in second pic, is my concern during my back swing especially with driver.

I know that I will also need some type of netting on the ceiling to protect when hitting wedges. Any and all suggestions are very much welcomed. Will update with information as soon as I can.

The archery netting is fairly expensive. For that price you could get a supertex impact screen from virtual-golf-simulator.com

Archery netting from West coast netting would be about $250 for the PR20 White for a 10x8

I had a guy ask me about this recently and it might work for you also.

they might customize to your area worth a call if you like it

Would these require anything behind it?

If you have the room, Rotate your hitting space 90 Degrees.
I have mine in my garage, and my swinging area is right under the garage door motor. Because of the arc of your swing, you will never hit it. I have enough space on each side in between the tracks to play right and left handed.

This also allowed me to move my hitting mat and park my truck in front of my screen (you may not have that depth however)

From the pics i would just have the screen infront of your hot water tank (far enough away that there is room behind it)... then stand on either side of your motor depending on what hand the player is...

    Hope that makes sense.

Totally makes sense, here are two issues I have.

      Ceiling Height:
Currently 8'6". I can swing my driver, but its super close. Once I add stance mat it may be to close. In the positiong I have it in now I may able to manipulate more room because of how the celing truss run.

      Garage Motor:

Could always switch to a side motor if needed. I would love to have a RH/LH Setup because all my friends are right hand. I will have to go back out and measue trying this set up. Thanks for the tip. Will update with finding.
Working...
