  • protee vs skytrak

    i got a used skytrak a few weeks ago and have been playing tournaments on it instead of protee. i thought the delay would really get on my nerves but i got used to it pretty quickly. i find that chipping and pitching is much easier for me on skytrak vs protee. i really struggle with the 15-20 yard chip shots flying too far on protee. on a perfectly struck chip, protee matches skytrak, if i turn off the ball track set my ball speed factor to 65. if i catch it the slightest big fat, using protee, it goes too far. i've recently been spending a lot of time tweaking my protee settings to match what i see on skytrak. here is what i ended up with:

    ball speed and drag settings
    club / ball speed / drag
    driver / 0.94 / 0.97
    3w / 0.97 / .96
    5w / 0.97 / 0.96 (i use a 3 hybrid for this club)
    3i / 0.99 / 0.97
    4i / 0.99 / 0.97
    5i / 0.99 / 0.97
    6i / 1.00 / 0.97
    7i / 0.98 / 0.99
    8i / 0.97 / 0.98
    9i / 0.95 / 1.00
    pw / 0.93 / 1 (i hit a pitching wedge and approach wedge with pw selected)
    sw / 0.80 / 1.01
    lw / 0.70 / 1.01

    maybe skytrak has issues with wedges because to get the two systems to match i had to really bring down the ball speed on protee. it might be an issue of me launching my wedges too high. still working on the swing...

    club path corrections
    driver = -5
    woods = -3
    irons = -4

      I'm trying to decide between the two. How hard to set up protee? Good club strike info on sky track? Info vs play on each.
