  • My Simulator / Golf Studio Build

This build has been a couple of years in the making, adding items here and there. Most of my focus over the last 3 months has been adding in the swing improvement tools (pressure mat, cameras, video analysis software) The build consists of:

    - Foresight GC2
    - Foresight HMT (just added today)
    - Foresight FR1 software
    - TGC
    - 2 IDS uEye cameras (UI-3250LE)
    - SwingCatalyst Software
    - Boditrak Pressure Mat
    - BenQ HD Projector - Short Throw
    - Two additional monitors for swing video analysis, one on the ground (good for pre swing drills / setup) and one at eye level. The monitors are mirrored.
    - One 4k TV, mostly for watching sports
    - Par2Pro HQ Screen...i need a more durable option. I seem to be burning thru one a year even though i change out my balls frequently.
    - Par2Pro Frame and black out cover

Note, the room is decent sized, about 14 x 24. The ceilings are a little low. The area I swing in is about 8' 3",while the outer part (you can see the flags hanging from where the ceiling drops) is about 7". One of the few cases (along with airline seating), where being 5' 5" is a blessing.

If you have any questions, ask away.

Very nice! A few questions for you on the IDS cameras and software... it looks like relatively low lighting in your room, do you get decent slow motion? How is the club bend and blur at impact? I'd like a setup with the ability to properly analyze club deflection through the hitting zone, and club head angles, especially at the halfway down point.

I do get good slow motion. When I am using video swing analysis, I turn up the LED can lights more than what is in the pictures. I usually get at least 60 FPS with a shutter of 1/200 of a second. You can definitely see the club head angle half way down. The IDS cameras are very good. I paid about $550 per camera. They do have cameras that are even more light sensitive (look for ones with latest Sony sensors), but quite a bit more expensive.

i found, for some reason, that Swing Catalyst software displays brighter images with the same capture than V1 Pro, so you can increase shutter speed a bit more resulting in less shaft blur.

One correction to the above...the cameras are UI-3240-LE. I actually traded my 3250s for 3240s because they are more light sensitive.
