I want to put netting in front of my retractable screen. I've searched around and cant seem to find what the golf channel uses? Someone said they put a netting in front of their impact screen but its so thin of a net that it doesn't make shadows?

I think my best bet is to put a 150" retractable screen up and when I want to use it for golf I can put up a bed sheet in front of it and hit into that. Anyone done that? -

Doesn't what rear project? I'm almost positive my best bet is to invest in a nice 16:9 movie screen and hang a 11ft wide x 7 ft sheet to hit the foam balls into.Comment

I tried a net with a front projector and didn't like it much. Also went with black net and the color rubbed off on the balls. Nasty. I have a 10x15 protee screen. Used It for 4 years or so until it became too beat up for decent movie viewing. My kids watch a ton of TV / video games on the screen so I didn't want to keep beating it up. I replaced it with another Protee screen and then cut the original old one in "half" (took out the center three feet or so, which was the most beat up). Had someone sew the side edges to make two new more narrow screens. I hung those like a curtain (on a high tension wire) that can be pulled across the main screen just when using for golf. It works pretty well. Had to rig it a bit to be able to keep it tight when pulled across (it will bunch up if completely loose...not good) - I put cable rope on both sides so that one side pulls it out of the way and then both sides are used to get it tight while it's in place. Nothing holds the sides or the bottom - just at that top.
Doing it from scratch while trying to use the screen for movie viewing and golf, with the 15' wide screen, I would buy a 8-10 foot screen to allow it to hang it front for golfing, and then pull it away for movies to be shown on the screen behind it. The screens I have are 6' wide since I cut out the middle 3 feet from the old 15 footer. 6' is fine for hitting but 8-10' would be better to not have the sides in the viewing angle as much. Not a big deal, but if doing it from scratch I'd go with wider.
