aspect ratio with iPad for skytrak and WGT

So..... got everything in and setup my sim!!! I have a 10x10 screen and an Optoma 305ST projector. I was told by Allsportsystems that at about 6.5 feet away I should have a nice 10x7.5 picture on a 4:3 setup for Skytrak software and WGT from my ipad... problem is that it's not the case. If I run it at 4:3 it's stretched horribly and I'm still not filling the width by about 2 feet with zero zoom digital zoom applied. If I go to auto it puts it into 16:9 and my picture is tiny but accurate in terms of no stretch. Native mode fills the screen as it should but I have tons of display cut off in terms of where the borders are for the picture - it's not giving me a large portion of what should be displayed.

Any suggestions? Did iPad air change their native output ? Am I missing something obvious?

Any help would be appreciated as I can play in 4:3 with a pretty full picture but everything is stretched or play in 16:9 with a very small picture that is appropriately Non stretched... lose lose...

just did that- it now fills the impact screen nicely but I question my overall picture quality.. should I be getting a really crisp picture from my ipad via lightning to hdmi? very pixalized text and overall just very bla.... I have a 1080p projector in my media room and this is a night and day difference in degradation - unsure if it's my source (ipad) or the projector but I would be curious for some advice ...
