I'd first like to thank everyone in this forum. All the advice, suggestions, and tips really made this DIY build workout well. I've played a few rounds and it works really well. Had a couple friends over last weekend and things are great. I'm very happy with how it has turned out.
I was fortunate that the wife and I have never parked our cars in the garage, so it's always been storage space. In exchange for clearing it out and building a shed in the back garden, I got to put the simulator in the insulated garage.
I used left over closet bars to support the screen which is balanced on the track for the garage door.The screen is a King size white bed sheet. I added the grommets myself and attached them to slotted angles I attached to the wall is ball bungees. On the left the side are two screws into the wall and are taken down so we can move around the screen easily. Behind the sheet are two used canvas drop sheets that are 15' x 9' and both are folded giving 4 layers of support behind the sheet. Takes the impact really well, there's very little rebound, and it is quiet. The top net is hockey goal netting (I do live in Canada after all).
The turf closest to the screen is chipping turf 4'3" x 6'6". The primary hitting mat is 4'6" x 6'6" and is called The ProDrive from a local company called ForeverLawnGTA, it's their own product. It's great, takes a tee, and feels very good. Underneath the entire area is standard Puzzle EVA foam matting.
I use a SkyTrak, it sits on the cardboard to the right. The wood is a version of this: https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...alignment-hack to help with putting and general hitting alignment. The light is a standard halogen light above the hitting area.
The projector (not on) is Optoma GT1080Darbee short throw.
The kegerator provides ample aiming fluid. And the dart board is necessary for any Brit
(Yes, when we miss the dart board we have to initial our incompetence haha) The Alabama plate is from when I lived and worked in Tuscaloosa a few years ago. Roll Tide!
