Decided to start a new thread with my pretty much finished new Garage Sim. I freely admit to stealing numerous fixes and ideas from several different guys on here! Thanks! I used the back wall of my 2 bay stall in a three car garage after raising the motor to the ceiling. I did a pivoting floor using a manual winch made from three 4x8 sheets of 1/2 inch plywood and framed using 1x2. Was concerned with weight but act6ualy wasn’t an issue if doing again I would frame it using 2x4. I then used a 2x8 for each side not tied into the lifting floor. I just lean these against the wall. I used a manual winch from Menards mounted on a 6x6 and anchored to the floor using concrete lag bolts and pulleys on hooks in the studs. I have a 16’ Roll Up Sport Screen with a ParPro 144”x108” impact screen for display and back wall protection plus hanging moving blankets behind and to the side of the screen, Might be a little overkill on Wall Protection. When I replace it I will go with a 16 ft screen from the mill seen elsewhere on here. I mounted an Optoma shortthrow GTX Darby that I really like. Biggest shortfall is no zoom so you need to get it mounted just right. Plenty bright in my garage even during daytime. I got a new Dell Inspiron with I 7 quad core processors,16 GB Ram, and both a Sata and SS disk drive. Went a little overboard on this but got a good deal ($900). Only has the GE Force 1050 Ti but with everything else was a good deal. Plays great. I really like the 5 Star perfect Hitting Matt to hit from but should have got the 5x5 instead of the 4x5. I used nylon chicken netting (Menards) 30 bucks for 50’plus fabric from Jo Ann’s to frame the top and sides. Works great just enough overhang. A frame enclosure may be better but this worked out ok. An upgrade maybe later..... For the actual golfing I got a SkyTrack with Game improvement level and JNPG the full membership. Really look8ng forward to playing and practicing on this during these long Ohio winters! This garage sim was my price to my wife to move here from Virginia! Lol! I’m a lucky guy I got a keeper for sure! Ended up with a lot of $25 and $40 trips to Menards, Home Depot, and Lowe’s but all in all including everything I’m probably about $6 Grand into this! Now for the Pics and for me to enjoy the rest of winter!
