    HELP! Plans for fold up simulator.

    Im trying to plan out my future simulator but need some help. I’m trying to make the space multifunctional. I want to shoot hockey pucks and also have a simulator. I’ve been thinking of doing a fold up on one side of the garage and a sports screen that can roll up in front of it or put the sports screen on the garage door side. Here are my questions
    1. Has anybody done anything like this?
    2. Are there any good plans for a fold up?
    3. If I had to raise my garage door motor and center rail what does that cost Ball Park?

    seriously any help would be awesome. I can’t believe how much cool info there on the forum is by the way but I totally have paralysis by analysis!!!

      One option to install a jack drive opener for your garage door which would allow for removal of the chain drive in the middle. Jack drives mount on the back wall beside the door. Cost around $400 plus labor.

          I also was looking for a setup where I could still use both the spots in my two car garage. I thought about doing some sort of screen or net that I could roll up like a screen but I ended up buying a Net Return Home Series net because I can set it up an tear it down in about 5 minutes. I also bought their Pro Turf as that can also be rolled up and stored in the corner in a few minutes as well. I have a 40" TV mounted on one of my garage walls instead of using a projector against a screen. I know it's not exactly what you were looking for but another idea for you to think about.

              That's how I setup my simulator, using an automatic sportscreen rollup. I simply attached my par2pro HQSQ screen directly to the sportscreen bar using velcro and just roll it up and down whenever I want to play. I typically leave my turf always on the ground, but you can slide it off to the side or try and roll it up when you're not using it.

              I also installed a jackshaft garage door opener, very pleased with the purchase.
