Anyone have experience putting carpet on walls?

I'm in the middle of my simulator room build in a section of my garage. The room is about 9.5' x 21'. It is currently all OSB walls & ceiling, but I've found in my couple of sessions hitting balls, and having a friend over chatting in there, it's pretty noisy with just a wood covered room. I was trying to figure out what made sense for the wall covering, nothing was cheap, and then I scored 450sqft of closeout carpet for $.19/sqft.

I'm looking for any tips there are for installing the carpet. I have a 41' x 12' roll, my walls are 12' in the center, and 8' on the ends. I'm not sure if it would make sense to cut it into something like 12' x 12' and do 1/2 of the long wall at a time, and then cut the angle once it's up, or whether I should just go for the full wall in one shot.

I bought a large bucket of premium carpet adhesive, I'm hoping it will be fine to go directly on the OSB to affix the carpet.

Anyone that has done a project like this have any tips?

I bet you'll have to primer the existing walls or something of the sort to make that adhesive work with a heavy carpet. But I love your idea. I also am looking to dampen the sound in my much smaller sim room and was looking at a site dedicated to sound deadening to try and get some ideas from it.

You may even need to attach it more firmly at the very top of the carpet going across the wall every 16.5" in the wall studs.

Just my thoughts on what you might need to do... I'm a Jackass of all trades and Master of none...I'm sure you can come up with something when you get started if no one has a better idea than mine.

Did it in a basement finish years back in ST. Louis, Mo. we used the carpet stretcher to hold it up in the center of the room and used a Pneumatic Staple Gun to staple it in place moving out from the middle to each end. Then stapled the bottom the same way doing the corners last. Can't say how well it would have held up, looked to be doing well when we finished the job, but the building burnt down about a month after that. There is general a 2x4 runner top and bottom that you can staple to, so you can run them every few inches.
