  • Sim Build Complete Edinburgh Scotland

Finally got my build finished and up and running. Started work in December on the garden and construction of the studio and took a while due to weather and planning issues.
Studio doubles as a gym and home cinema, golf sim is Skytrak based but am looking for GC2 upgrade along the way some time. Tubular steel enclosure fabricated from 33 mm tubing , backing net and side nets with an archery screen at the moment . Very happy to get in on the Direct from Mill thread so will overlay that screen when it comes. Side panels are right next to walls so net wouldn't be enough to prevent damage so had some foam panels made up for the sides and roof of the enclosure which the net captures in place between the tubulars of the frame. I glued 50 mm velcro to the foam and covered everything in black auto carpet. Projector is Benq MW826 ST and fills the screen pretty well at 4.5 mts x 2.9 mts approx. Mat is foam backed tee turf at 3.5 meters long by 1.5 meter, I went with that just for the visual aspect of having an unbroken surface to practice putt on . Side turf is section of 40mm artificial turf bought online. Using The Golf Club Game and R-motion plus Fitness golf. There is a 5.1 sound system powered by Yamaha Home Cinema Amp, front and centre speakers are wall mounted behind the screen and sound good.
A big thanks to all the contributors on this forum, I lurked here for a while and gained so much info and knowledge from all the posters that really helped me with my build and helped me avoid potentially costly mistakes. Looking forward to joining the tour shortly.

Beauty job on the studio build and on the setup. Looks amazing. Very similar setup inside to mine (which I need to find time to do a write up about) in terms of layout, so good to see how you fitted everything in. Hopefully see you on the tour when we both get on it!

Thanks for all the kind comments. The racking was bought on Ebay here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-H...72.m2749.l2649
I am in the UK so not sure if available elsewhere. The racks were not cheap but they are well designed and made and hold 24 clubs, I thought they were a better option than bags when space is an issue.

Hello, I’m a PGA Club Professional in Cornwall. I have an indoor Simulator room at my club., which has an enclosure screen of Archery Baffle which now has a hole. The screen has been fine, but I would like to upgrade to a ‘Foresight ‘quality screen’ I picked up on your comment that you have recently purchased from source or supplier a raw mill production. Could you advise on the procedure, costs etc to get this to the UK. Thanks Jonathan....Tehidy Park Golf Club

                Hi
There is a thread on this forum called direct from the mill screen in the impact screen section. It was created by a very helpful member on here who sourced where the HQ fabric was made and got a group together to buy some rolls. He basically compiled a list of people and then ordered the material . He had price for linear foot x 10 feet high , so you paid that and then when he received the fabric he would cut it to size and pack it in a box , then you sent him a prepaid shipping label to wherever you needed it sent to. The member is US based and the fabric is raw though some people had their material sent to a finisher in the US. I preferred to have mine finished locally where I could meet the finisher to discuss the job. If you look at the thread you will find that he has just finished a run and is out of fabric, I don't know if he has plans to do another run and it does take a little while to get people together and then for the factory to schedule the run so if it is an urgent need then maybe look elsewhere but keep an eye out on the thread if another run happens because it is a very good screen. Hope this helps.
