I recently purchased 8x8 screen to fit in my garage. I know I need a short throw projector but that’s about it. So What projector do I need to fill the screen?

Depend on how far you are putting it from the screen. Optoma GT1080Darbee would give you 96" wide by 72" tall 4:3 image at 5.4 ft from the screen.
