The journey for a practical, indoor/outdoor portable home golf simulator continues....
I did a proof of concept setup last night with my new practice net (Spornia SG-5), Optishot 2, and an old projector. It works fine for me, but I'm a lefty, and with this setup right handed players can't play at the same time.
This projector (https://www.viewsonic.com/pjd6221.html) projects too large for this small screen unless you've got it up real close like I do in this picture, and that means putting it off to the side, preventing a right hander from playing at the same time.
Ideally the setup should have the project behind us and up high. We can't have a short throw projector in front of us because we need to be as close to the net as possible for more shank protection. I don't know how to accomplish this outside on a lawn for a portable setup?
The only feasible option I see for a portable setup is using the back porch and maybe put it on top of a ladder? https://i.imgur.com/7KTQ7iG.png Seems about as janky of a setup as the picture. I also lose shank protection that I would otherwise use from the yard's perimeter fencing.
