  • Low(er) Cost Projectors

    Hi everyone,

I am looking to complete my sim room with a projector. I've been considering the BenQ MW 632ST as it's received great reviews and many have used it for their sim rooms. That said, has anyone had any luck with the lower cost options, perhaps in the $200 - $300 range? It's already been tough convincing the wife to build as much as I have, so finding an adequate lower cost option would be great.

    TIA.

In my opinion, no I don't think you would be happy with one. I tied to go with a cheaper one and it was not very clear, plus I would have ended up having to put it too far back because it was not a short throw. I never installed it just had it up on a ladder and did not like it. I ended up getting the one you mention MW632ST and happy with it. I found a factory refurbished one.for around $400. Check BenQ, they have the refurb ones from time to time or just do a search for the refub unit. You can end up with the one you want for a only about $100 to $150 more. Hope that helps!

I have the MW632ST projector. I love the projector for the 16:10 image size. Really looks and works well with SIM Golf. I do wish it was higher resolution.

I'm looking now to replace it with a 1080 unit.

This ones going to the kids room.

I'm looking for a projector that will do 4:3 10 foot wide screen. Possibly a bit brighter room. The BenQ TH671ST looks good but doesn't say whether it will support 4:3 aspect. Anybody know? Recommendations? I'm in Canada.
