    Is 11ft wide sufficient to play on the sim centered?

    Hi All,

    I've a room only 11ft wide but i was wondering if this is sufficient to play centered if i only have a comparatively small screen?

    I was thinking of a screen 8ft wide and 8ft high (projecting 4:3) and the screen pushed the the very right hand side of the room (i'm right handed).

    I'll only be able to project a 100" image with the projector i have so it will be only be 7ft wide projected image. This hopefully wont be too small as i'm going to have to be quite close to the screen as i only have 13.5ft of depth to play with

    To centre the ball to the screen it would then need to therefore be 3.5ft from the right wall which would then give 7.5ft from ball to left side wall to swing - do you think that would be enough?

      Since your room exits already probably the best thing is to swing driver and see for yourself. For me, 7.5 feet ball to wall would be plenty. Maybe a bit tight if you step back and do a full practice swing. A one handed follow thru might hit something.

      Also you don't have to hit to center of screen. I move my hitting around to reduce wear on the screen and have hit 2 ft from the right edge without any problems.

          It all depends on your swing. My space is 13ft wide and I’m off centred because I tend to get flat with driver and kept hitting wall behind me.

              I got 15 feet and I am still a few inches off center. I think 16 is minimum for a comfortable swing.

                  Your room is big enough with an offset set up. Ball to wall on both sides (back wall and side behind) for driver is 7 feet leaving you 3 feet in front and 9.5 to the screen.

                      Offsetting an 8’ wide screen in an 11’ wide room should allow you to play on the sim centered unless you are really tall and has a really flat swing.

                          You could still use a larger screen and just offset the starting line, unless you are set on being in the middle

                              I agree with wbond; personally, I prefer to offset the starting line and go with a wider screen.
