  • New Golf Sim Build - Mike80 is BACK!

Hey! I'm finally back to sim golfing! Just finished my new build! I moved to a new house and haven't had my golf sim for a year or more. A lot of work has been done to finally get to this point. I added an epoxy floor, insulated/drywall and painted entire garage. Added a gas heater and AC unit. I had to change my garage door openers and track. I changed them to the LiftMaster where they are mounted on the side and had high tracks installed. This allowed me to save a ton of space in the garage. I was then finally able to start my sim build.

Sim Build Dimensions: Width: 15 ft - Height: 10 ft
Screen: SQ Screen from Par2Pro (15 ft wide x 9.5 height)
    Nylon Turf: 1/2" thick 12' x 15' roll from TurfAvenue.com
    Hardware: GC2 and TGC software

I want to throw a big shout out to Par2Pro! They have been amazing to work with. I originally ordered a 12ft wide screen and then later during the build I realized I needed a wider screen. They allowed me to return the screen and upgrade and pay the difference for the wider screen. I can't say enough how great they are to work with! I am using the SQ Beta Screen from Par2Pro. This screen is amazing! It has a nice and quiet sound with ball impact. The material allows for a great High Definition picture quality. I was super impressed. This screen blows away my old screen I had. I highly recommend this screen to everyone! You won't be disappointed. Thanks again Par2Pro !!!!! I'm finally back! Yeah!!!! Also looking forward to TGC2019. I'm hoping to get the email for Alpha Testing! Check out the attached pics of the sim build. If anyone has any questions let me know.

Love the turf you used. Went to the web site and tried to find the one you bought, could not seem to find it ( Nylon Turf: 1/2" thick 12' x 15' roll from TurfAvenue.com). Could you please give me the exact one you ordered. Thanks

jagred64 I looked on TurfAvenuse.com and didn't see the link they used to have on the site titled "Nylon Turf". I Google searched the exact turf I bought and found a backdoor link to their site with the turf I bought. Not sure if they still sell this model or not. I would call them and find out if they still have this turf or something similar.

It is actually made for putting greens, but nice and thin and feels like hitting off a fairway.

This is the turf I bought:
      66NGE EZ Pro Putt BentGrass
      15' x 12'
      $3.74 sq.ft (total 180) = $673.20

We offer the largest selection of backyard nylon putting green kits with a manufacture direct pricing.

Now that it’s been in for a few weeks, how is the turf holding up where your hitting area is?

The turf is holding up really well! It’s made really good. Only issue I’m seeing is the 1/2 inch interlocking tile foam squares. The far back middle tile is starting to bubble up. I am going to add double sided carpet tape on bottom of the foam tiles in hitting area so it sticks to concrete floor to hold down. It’s very minor now but overtime it might get worse. In future I might need a heavier duty bottom padding to put below hitting area. The foam tiles are thin and with impact and friction they can mold with a bend shape.

The one I created only works with Air Keyboard. So if Android doesn’t support that app then it won’t work on Android tablet. I’m not sure if anyone created one for Android using a different app. I’m sure there are similar apps for Android like Air Keyboard. It’s basically a remote touchscreen keyboard app.

LeftyLeff52 I used the Anti-Fatigue foam mats from Harbor Freight. I put those mats on ceiling and side walls. I also used these mats as my base floor below my turf for padding.

These are the mats I used.
