    First time build, almost done...

    Hi all,

Wanted to share my first time golf sim build. So far so good. Really allows me to get 20 mins a day of solid practice in which has done wonders for my game.

Just bought a new new house in the San Diego area and it came w a semi enclosed carport. I used this to create my practice area.

    1). 1 inch EMT piping w fittings from a canopy/tent store online.

    2). 16 x 9 Carl’s Premium impact screen.

    3) Optoma Darby GT projector.

4). Micro suede fabric for curtains.

    5). 4 inch felt tape

6). 15 x 19 remnants of putting turf from local store laid directly on concrete.

    7). Vizio soundbar.

    8). Country club elite mat

9). Misc desk, coffee table, chair, and couch from old house.

10). Foam hard wood look tiles to cover areas putting green didn’t cover.

11). SkyTrak that I’m running off my iPhone that I mirror to projector via my amazon fire stick.

12). Live view plus recorder w older iPad.

    Dreams Do Come True :-)

Thanks to everyone in this forum. I learned a lot from reading older posts etc. Happy to answer any questions etc

    Thanks,

    Kato

Is that Callaway item some sort of ball dispenser? How many balls does it take and is it easy to reload?

Yeah it’s a ball dispenser and holds a couple dozen balls. Works great and easy to pick balls up w after. Like a shag bag.

It's the callaway procaddie. Supposed to hold 36 balls I think, but I only load it with 30 otherwise it seems to hang up more.. It's very easy to re-load, just push it down onto the ball and it goes back in. When it gets hung up inside I hold the lever down, it will usually release, but sometimes you do have to shake it. It's great for the sim though, play rounds even quicker.

How far from the screen are you hitting from? Any ceiling protection? What did you use for screen tension?

I’m hitting about 9-10 feet from the screen. No ceiling protection. Haven’t come close to hitting the top quarter of the net. I used the bunjies w the little balls on the end that Carl’s sells w their screen. Works great. Screen is perfectly flat. No bounce back issues etc.

Awesome! Almost exact setup as how I would like to make. If you dont mind me asking, how much did it cost you for the screen/emt and putting turf? Not sure if I want to customize it myself or buy it from allsportsystems.

Great setup! Are you going to get the TGC sim software to play full golf courses? It's awesome!

maybe. Driving range is working out ok. I live in San Diego so play outside ;-). Really use it to practice at night after kids go down for 20 mins or so. Also been watching a lot of TV on it lately!!
