Thank you to everyone that posts on this site. It was extremely helpful in my build. I still need to add all the final touches (sanding drywall, paint, maybe epoxy floor etc) but i will wait until spring.
Double car garage with high ceilings. The curtains close, flooring and runners roll up to allow 1 car in the garage.
Living in Canada i had to have the entire garage insulated. The garage doors are insulated and I added the high lift extensions so that the top rails are basically at the ceiling.
I had a 240v plug put in and use a single small heater with fan (similar to what they use on construction sites) . Depending on how cold it is outside the garage gets to around 20 C in about 2 hours.
The Screen is around 188" wide by 92" high (16x9). Thanks go to dbgolf72 for all his hard work to get us screens direct from mill. I used 2" plumbing pvc pipe as the frame. Bicycle wall mounted racks to hold up the screen and keep it away from the back wall. I used small tarp clips screwed to the back of the pvc pipe to secure the screen on 3 sides. I experimented with securing the screen on 4 sides but it didn't look as good as just letting the bottom drape on the ground.
Projector is an Optoma GT 1080 Darbee (ceiling mount)
Foresight GC2, I also purchased the hitting mat from the Foresight rep.
Laptop is an ASUS G752VS with an nvidia 1070 (even tho the laptop is only 3-4 feet away i still use the asus bt400 dongle with extension so that it sits beside the GC2 power cable)
Black curtains to cover the garage doors and part of the seating side, TV and mural on the back wall really helped with the overall feel. I also added a black mesh section for the high flop shots.
All of the electronics except for the tv go inside after we use the simulator. Set up and take down takes about 10 min.
Let me know if you have any questions or need advice.
