  • Basement build not much purchased yet

Just getting started (only bought the projector so far. 17x18 basement with 9 foot ceilings. Any input is gladly welcomed as I feel a little over my head :-)

Benq TH671ST Projector (the only item I have already purchased and is currently being shipped)

176x99 inch screen width in a 16:9 ratio. I am planning on buying 16 feet of the par2pro SQ Raw and using ball bungee and clamps (top and sides) and fold over the extra screen on the top and one side to allow for a new ball strike area later. Bottom of the screen will just hang to the floor.

Hopefully using angle iron to hang the screen 8 inches from the wall and use some carpet padding/moving blankets to cover the back of the screen (honestly I’m a little lost on how to make the frame correctly). I’m not very handy and I’m completely baffled as to how you make the frame. Do I need netting as well behind the screen so it doesn’t hit the wall or should I try it first with just the carpet padding and blankets?

Possibly some blackout drapes/carpet runner to go around the outside of the screen. Not sure about this yet.

Putting/hit area is Lowes Syngreen cut to 176 length and 120 inches deep to match the screen width. Laying directly on the concrete basement floor. It will be going up to the basement carpet. Currently the whole basement is carpeted so I'll be cutting out an area for the green. I’ll probably have a flooring person do this and attache the two just so it doesn’t look ragged where the carpet and green meet.

4x5 5 star perfect reaction mat with my tee area about 7 1/2 feet from the screen

    Computer, my current gaming PC

R-Motion with the included TGC courses as the sim for now. Definitely will be upgrading to something else in the future, but still excited for the R-Motion.

Seating in the back. It’s kinda close quarters for people sitting there while someone swings but it needs to be there anyways for home theater use.

Still waiting for the projector to arrive before I finalize anything (gotta test the projector placement and screen size). I’d love to hear critiques/advice especially regarding the putting flooring and screen. I included an image with [A] being where I would hit from.

Have you checked height with driver swing? 9' is just a minimum maybe with some, if u are or someone else is tall, may have issues. I play in garage, 9' 5" where I swing. On a full driver swing with full follow thru I sometimes scrape my ceiling. Bottom of my driver shows scrapes. Oh well not planning to trade it in anyway.

Yes I checked height with my driver and it works very well for me. Very good point, I'll have to give friends a heads up about that with drivers and 3 woods, thanks!

        Hi
just curious how it turned out. The size you have is very similar to mine. And I wonder how you mounted the screen and what you have done to protect frame and side walls...

        Thank you
