  • Putting area for those of us with “tear down/temp builds”, what do you do?

    Hey guys and gals,

Got my garage build rocking and set up. It’s a stowaway version in my garage so it’s stowed when not in use. I’ve gotten pretty quick with my set up and tear down.

    - retractable impact screen and netting
    - CCE Mat that hangs on the wall when not in use
    - long piece of scrap carpet with foam to catch falling balls
    - strip of scrap carpet from edge of mat to the longer piece just in front of the screen used for putting towards screen so the balls don’t get scuffed on the concrete flooring.
    — both carpet and foam pieces quickly roll up and get bungied for storing purposes when not in use.

I’m not a big fan of the strip of carpet I’m using for putting. It’s really hard to gauge speed and the ball drops more than an inch off the mat on to the carpet. Just not a best case scenario. Hoping the pictures showcase what I’m describing!

Curious if anyone has figured out the best way to putt in this type of build? Or if you have thoughts/ideas/suggestions to making something a bit better suited for this stowaway build. Maybe just a 12”w piece of plywood with putting green type material glued to it that can be put away?

What do people do that have the CCE mat or others of similar thickness when putting?

Build a lightweight 2x4 (or 1x3) foot platform the same height as your hitting matt. You can just drop it in place in front of your hitting matt. I have something similar for my hitting matt, I lock it in place with a couple of eye hooks.
