Adding putting mat into existing build

I currently have a full sim built out inside my garage, including skytrak and CCE hitting mat. I'd like to add a putting mat/path directly in front of my CCE mat so that when putting on simulation rounds, I have a physical hole to putt into.

After many searches I couldn't really find all that much info on something like this... So I thought I'd just make the new topic. Apologies if there are others out there I couldn't find.

Anyway, I've been looking at the birdieball green and it seems like a good option, but I was wondering if anyone has done this and could offer any advice/suggestions/etc.

I came across your post when having the same thoughts as we are building a new home with a golf simulator room. Wondering what you ended up doing to add more realistic putting to your setup. Any advice would be appreciated.

I did eventually add a birdieball strip into my setup (that no longer exists as I had two kids and moved) ... it was a little work but i added a subfloor using dricore and built up my landing area to match the height of the CCE mat. Then cut into the landing area to inlay the birdieball strip. it worked pretty well. i'll see if i can find a pic...

Stetson I'm back - sorta - helping a buddy put together a sim setup in his house so digging back thru the forums to see what i've missed since mine was unceremoniously decommissioned in 2020. ha.

Hello SWalthour - that's a great question, and one that I've been studying for quite some time. I'm at a point now where I need to pick a stance mat, or at least some type of putting material - I could also use as a stance mat. I've also been watching Birdie Ball, which does seem to be a pretty good option.

One thing you have to be certain of, for example is that your not using a launch monitor that may use reflected light for taking measurements. I am setting up a ProTee simulator, and I've been told to use PE (polyethylene turf) as it is low reflection. So, make sure when you purchase, you check the material, and that it is made from polyethylene. I will be posting pictures up here as I move ahead in my build, as I have a full floor to build - ProTee requires me to install the sensor (embedded) into the turf, which will also allow me to have nice 'realistic' cups cut into my putting area as well - this will also make for a much more realistic putting.

I will post up here with the turf I purchased when my floor build is done... hopefully very soon
