  • Dealing with a step in media/golf sim room

I'm planning my simulator build in my media room. Unfortunately the media room has a step down (standard step height) in the middle of the room, that runs across the entire width. Given the size of the room it really only makes sense to put the tee area across the step, so I need a way to level it off. I'd rather not make permanent alterations to room.

Wondering if anyone come across a similar situation and what have you done in these types of situations?

Can you provide some pics and dimensions, may be easier to suggest something. Might be able to make a simple platform the same height as the upper level.

There's about 8ft from the screen to the step (you can see the top of it in wood on the floor), there's approx 6ft from the top of the step to the back of the room close to where I'm taking the picture from.

      Thanks!

You'll want to place the ball on the upper level with your left foot (if you play from the right side) over that edge. Therefore, you need to build a plywood covered platform (i.e. a box) that's the height of the step, no more than 2 ft wide and the length of your mat. Lay that platform on the bottom level and place the mat over that.
