  • Screen ball bounce back!

Total DIY setup in my garage. using metal cable and rope to hang my screen. works great until bottom gets loose and I have a solution for that. Problem is with crushed shots with driver and 3w the ball will tap my wall and shoot back at me rolling across my garage. I have 24 inches from the screen to the wall and do not want to move it any farther away. will using something between the screen and wall help? I tried a foam material 10 inches thick it caused more of a bounce back. Do moving blankets work? what materials have you used to correct this problem? thanks for all the feedback and if you need more info just ask. Thanks

Sounds like you have too much tension on the screen. I used a 12" setback that everyone on here and Carl's recommended and have no problems at all.

Can't be tension if he's 24" from the wall. SOunds like no tension on the sides and it's allowing the screen to move all the way against the back wall on high speed shots. I would suggest attaching the sides to something to reduce the amount of give the screen has.

Thanks for the correction wbond. My brain was thinking "not enough" and I typed "to much". Ugh!!

The rope came loose and I did not notice. Tied it to a decent snug tension and back it action. I also put the foam strips that are 3 feet by 7 feet let they lean loose instead of mounted and perfect! Slight bounce back but nothing bad. Couple of feet

regular foam will bounce....but I use memory foam(twin size memory foam from Target costs like $50) and it absorbs energy like a champ. Nutted driver shots hit the carpet and roll back about 4-5 feet.
