Hello all,
First, I appologize for my limited english skills and thanks for your comprehension.
I have read many of your posts, look at your pictures and plans/sketches and learn a million things. Thanks again!
I just bought a Skytrak and, of course, I want a simulator room but it can't be permanent (lovely wife rule ;-)).
My space will be 11' 6'' x 11'6'' and the ceiling hight is 9'. I planning to install a 8' x8' impact screen.
Since I'm building the room from scratch, I'm planing a removable piece of flooring (1' x 2 or 3') for a Fiberbuilt (2 or 3 sq.ft.) hitting surface. When done, I replace the hitting surface by the piece of flooring. For the projector, I'l probably hang a short throw permanently from the ceiling. (Wife seems to like the idea that she could use the screen to watch movies,...)
I already have a good enought computer.
Please take a look at my plan.
So I'm planning to built 2 panels (4'4'' x 8' 10'' x 5'') that I can operate like doors on hingges. Open, they will serve as side protections and closed they will appear like a regular wall.
In the inside of each panels I will install a permanent pole to attach de sides of the screen with bungies. On top, reaching both panels, I'l install 2 removable poles (so I can fold the panels to the wall). The one in the back to hang the screen with bungies and the front one to solidified the structure and to attach a top net for protection.
Behind the screen there will be an oppening from floor to ceiling and 6' wide. But I will install the screen 12'' to 16'' from the back.
Should I attach the bottom of the screen?
Any advices, comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance and have a great day!
Luc
