Hi,I have been a regular reader of the forum for several years and have always been interested in members comments and ideas and especially the simulator builds. Hope you do not mind if I show my effort,not quite finished yet but near enough. Thought I would knock it together over the summer.. 18 months later....

Where did you get the wall mural? I’m in UK and planning my sim room at the moment.
How do you find the TrueStrike?
You ball collector is set up for a lefty but your GC2 is set up for righty is it that way because the collector gets in the way of GC2?
What projector is that? Looks very short throw and almost in the line of fire for a flop??

The wall mural came from wayfair.co.uk. It comes in various sizes. Fairly easy to put up but care needed, its a little delicate.Comment

The true strike mat is very good. My son is working hard to turn professional and this seemed to be the best choice. Some other golfers use the room, they are of varied abilities and enjoy the mat. The ball tray is indeed on the left to allow the gc2 to slide easily for tee and fairway shots. When I get a couple of quid the tray will be replaced with a grass section. The projector is optoma gt1080e. It is short throw and for the money does very well. The teeing position is 10 feet from the screen..the projector is around 8 and a half feet from the screen and mounted to a 10 foot ceiling. I had considered adding a little protection here,but no one has ever threatened it. If users are mindful of their driver teeing heights there should be few issues. I should also say that although the true strike is a good mat an additional section is probably a good idea for extra width, a little expensive though.Comment

The two camera system is rather old school. The cameras are Samsung mini dv vp381. They use firewire to connect to the laptops that connect to the wall screens and use v1 software. Although not quite as fancy as the up to date hd cameras they provide immediate video on every shot. If anything sharper is required use the ipad. The mini dv video is certainly good enough for swing analysis. With these cameras the secret is to have good lighting,hence the led floodlights sited front and down the line. We have had this camera system for years and served us well. Certainly a worthwhile option on a budget.Comment

Looking good! Great set up.
I use truestrike, but have it set up differently and do not need the extra section. I move the gel section closer to the gc2, giving me 3 stance mats then the gel. You move the gc2 backwards, as you're always hitting from that gel panel, even for driver. To tee up I use tomahawk tees.Comment

The gc2 and cage are mounted securely to a slider. This allows for easy transfer from the true strike teeing section to the gel section. Using the true strike tees it is a simple matter of height adjustment for tee shots. The tees stay in their holder. When using the gel section the gc2 simply slides forward to accommodate fairway shots etc. It is a simple and elegant solution and in practice works well. If I do want a little more width another section is needed. I find the ball tray in a sim room not really needed.

The slider for the gc2 was extremely simple to make. This slider was made from 40cm Neewer Carbon Fibre dolly rail. I purchased mine from Ebay for about £35. The gc2 cage I already had. I added a washer and a few heavy duty double sided sticking pads. I wanted only a small slider just so much to travel from driver section to fairway hitting section on my particular mat. You can see from the pictures the gc2 cage is attached to the slider with the accompanying nut and the added washer through and to the back of the slotted underside of this gc2 case. The double sided pads were added to provide a level platform, further adhesion and stability.
Ths slider can obviously only move one way, but a device could be mounted at any angle to allow for a side to side motion. Really simple to make and looks the part. You could of course use different length of slider. Hope this is of help.Comment
