  • Garage Build: Attempt #2....making progress

Making some progress....... need help from the forum with suggestions:

I met with a garage door technician and he strongly suggested that I use the garage bay attached in the photo as it is the only door that has space to put a jackshaft motor. He said that he could put the tracks about 6 inches from the ceiling. Given my ceiling is 11 feet that means it would be about 10 feet 6 inches from the top.

As a result I think the following plan would work.

    1) Tracks go up to about 10 feet, 6 inches
    2) Install the Stealth Elite (Par2Pro) screen at ~ 10 feet
    3) the bracket to support from the ceiling (in red) would be to the left of the track on the left hand side and to the right of the track to the right hand side
    4) With this setup, everything is basically under the garage door track so I could use it technically if the door is open or not. Zero risk if the screen is down and someone opens the door.

I have a few questions in relation to the products and placement of the side netting/curtain and ceiling netting

    1) For the left hand side wall, I would need to have a netting that is off the wall by at least 6 inches (from what i have been told). However i can't exactly using ceiling tracks because then it would get in the way of the garage door correct? Also I have a heater there so don't want to have a fire risk
    2) For the right hand side, I can put ceiling tracks, but I need something as a result which would be at least 11 feet long.
    3) Any solid options for ceiling netting? I would need to install it at about 10 feet which would be under where the garage door would be. Should I use the tracks itself as a way to tighten the net? I will not be using the Sim while the garage door is open as this is for winter use.

One big pressure point is that as you can see in the second photo, the ceiling raises from 11 feet to about 14 feet when I am about 7 feet away from the simulator. Given I have a 2nd car parked in the other bay, I would like to have at least 10 feet of a curtain/netting in the middle of the garage (right side of sim) to have a 0% chance a ball somehow goes into my wife's car. So without creating two seperate tracks, is there any solution here anyone can think of? For the left hand netting I think a curtain/netting of about 7 feet will do and won't need any for the raised ceiling portion.

Final issue is if I have side netting on both the left and right sides, how would you organize it for when the sim is not in use. The left side does not have much room so not sure where it would be placed when idle and rolled together. Any way of raising it?

Thanks everyone I really appreciate the help. Getting so close!
