Hanging screen instal

Trying to figure out if mounting a screen from my gaage rafters and not having side mounts is doable. I am torn between going with a screen from Carls or the very expensive mechanical onefrom par2pro. Trying to figure out the best way to make it portable so I can still park cars when not in use.

Here is my situation. Rafters in garage are 11 feet up. The area where I would like to put the screen is several feet away from walls. I was thinking of hanging it with bungee cords from rafters and having it fall to the ground with some overhang. On the ground I would wither leave it be or create a few anchor points to connect to. I don't care about having a perfectly straight screen and will be using an old 720p projector so image quality doesn't need to ne the best.

Is this screen install possible or do you need side mounting?

I spoke to both Carls and par2pro. Carls suggested the 4:3 screen in one of the lagrer sizes and mounting it reverse so it would be 11.5 x 8.5. That would make it easier to mount from a height perspective. Par2pro mechanical would require me to add some drop down wood as the height in my garage exceeds their maximum height without going to some custom sizes. And is $1k more!

Thoughts?

If I go manual, i'd likely build a pulley system to hoise the screen to the rafters when not is use. And side protection I will figure out as I get to that point.

If image is not as important, you could go with pr20 netting which is excellent for durability and a decent image and have it mounted on a steel cable via carabineers and then slide it in and out when needed. You mention that it will be several feet from side walls so you could get tarp clips and put them on the sides of the screen. Then attach longer bungee cords to your side walls and pull them out and hook onto the tarp clips. This will give you a little bit of tension and smooth some of the wrinkles. I have used this method in one of my garage setups and it works well. All of this can be setup in only a couple minutes.

Depending on exact place I hang it, I could run longer cords from one side wall but other side wouldn't have any anchor point. I would be maybe 2-3 feet from back wall and 3-4 feet from one side wall. Other side would be 15 feet or more and actually would be the garage door. I'm really thinking the stealth setup is perfect for some like me with a horrible mind for deisgning stuff like this but the price tag is kind of tough to take in. However, I am saving quite a bit on not playing right now with all courses closed.

Perforated angle iron attached to the rafters, hang the screen from it using tarp clips. Soooo easy to set up and adjust, you can space the tarp clips so there is little or no sag or wrinkling in the screen. You can buy some low cost tarps, dark is best, since they won't be taking direct hits, to do the sides.

Using that method, do I simply let the screen hang and anchor to floor at corners?
