  • Help please quick question

I have an Optoma GT 1080HDR coming in the mail as well as Carl’s 15x9 screen and enclosure. The projector is to be mounted at 7’1” with -15” vertical offset. If I have a 10 foot ceiling and I mount this as close to the ceiling as possible will my image hit the top of the enclosure (5 foot depth)and not display on my screen? Or can I mount it farther back and then shrink the image back? Need advice quick to possibly cancel orders.

    thanks

Try using some of the projector analysis sites.

    For example: https://www.projectorcentral.com/Opt...or-pro.htm#top

If I put in your projector with 15' width projection (180"), and a 16:9 aspect ratio, your projected height will be 101" (8' 5") so you will have some space at the top of the screen for padding / trim.

The site predicts a throw distance of 90" (not 85" as per your note).

When I did my build, I used this site for calculations and then drew a scale drawing with a line for the top of the projection, which would tell you where the enclosure will interfere with the projection.

I hope that helps and makes sense
