My DIY Divot Action Insert

I have an old mat that I got from a driving range a friend used to work at. While it's nice and big... it's brutal on the body and I can never get the launch off of it on my 3hybrid and 3wood that I do in normal turf. So I decided to give making a Divot Action insert a try.

Parts list:

• Rubber feet for plastic (used these stacked so I could get as close as possible to the height of my mat) - https://www.menards.com/main/hardwar...51-c-13089.htm

• 3M Spray Glue to adhere turf to plastic I had laying around from my car audio days

Total: Around $45 or so... could have been cheaper if I bought a smaller version of the plastic.

Overall I'm rather impressed. Bad shots where I dig no longer hurt and my launch angles have gotten much better on my longer clubs.

Nice work. I'm keen on everyone's feedback on these custom builds. I have a DivotAction as well as a Fiberbuilt section and I'm always looking for improvements. I have been wondering about a custom combo between a diy divotaction and diy gel pad insert. Can I ask why you put the single rubber feet in the centre rather than allowing the plastic to fully flex the same height as the outer feet? And how do you think the Polyethylene sheet compares with lexan of the same thickness for flexibility?
