  • Attaching impact screen to portable net

I currently have a portable setup in my garage with a Spornia SPG-7 net and a PC and monitor off to the side to see the shots. I know someday we will move to a house that will allow me to have a permanent setup so I'm thinking of investing in some of the equipment now (e.g. the projector) and then incorporating it to the current setup.

For those in the know, do you think this would work... Buy an "imperfect" impact screen section from Par2Pro (7 X 6 feet) and attach it to the current Spornia net using tarp clips or bungee cords. Then set up the projector and hit at the net as usual but this time with the white screen showing the sim software.

Any reason this wouldn't work? Impact screen too heavy? Would cause a lot of bounce back?

I know it isn't quite what you're looking for, but I think Spornia has a white impact sheet like the black target target you have shown that can project an image (might be poor quality). Not sure if the weight of an impact screen will be able to be held up by those fiberglass poles

Yeah I did see that however I think they are fully sold out of those and they wont be back in stock till September at least apparently... Weight is definitely a consideration alright. Those poles arent exactly heavy duty

Can you mount the screen to the ceiling somehow and have it touch the net? Then you don't have to worry about weight of the screen on the net. You can put a strip of angle iron on the ceiling, use tarp clips and bungee cords or you could put a curtain runner and then slide it in and out when playing.

Cool idea. I've been thinking of a way to mount an impact screen that doesn't impair my garage door opener and this would be perfect. The impact screen we have at my friends setup wasn't super heavy... the only caveats we noticed are you want it to hang free so it absorbs the ball impact and typically you want a pipe or some sort across the top so the screen hangs evenly and doesn't get ripples in it.
