  • Is there space enough for a simulator

    Hi all

I am in the process of building a new vacation house and I wan´t to put in a golfsimulator if I have enough space. Please look at the measurements in the drawings and help me find out if it is possible??? Width=284.8 cm = 9ft 4 in, lenght = 449.4 cm = 14 ft 9 in, height = as shown in the side picture with 25 degree angle on the roof ( I am not sure about the height with the angle of the roof and how far from the screen I have to stand). I am 6 ft 2 in in height myself. Please help me figure out of my dream is possible and if it is which setup would be the best solution?

    Thank you very much Claus

If I'm looking at your diagram correctly, It looks like you have Width and Height swapped? If you have 284 Height (9'4") throughout, you should have enough height (my sim is 9' 3" and I am also 6' 2"). Width at 449 (14'9") is very good and you should be able to hit from the center.

I am missing your depth measurement. Typically, you need 12" between the wall and the screen, a minimum of 7-8' between screen and Tee and another 7-8' from Tee to back wall.

    Hope that helps.

The width is 284 (9'4''), depth is 449 (14'9'') and height depends on how far from the screen I need to be because of the 25 degree angle of the ceiling. The wall where I need to put the screen should be the wall that is dividing the 2 rooms. Unless anyone has a better idea?

A depth of 14'9" is a little tight but doable. A width of 9'4" is very tight but possibly doable, although it will require a large offset.

can you tell us the height measurement of the ceiling from the point of the wall separating the rooms and the 7-8' from the screen to the tee as suggested by mikemcd22? Just from the look of it, you might have trouble with backswing (especially with driver) from a height and width perspective.

If that didn't really work out, the other option would be hitting in the opposite direction and rather than a projector and impact screen, you could put in the Net Return and a monitor on the wall facing you. The mini net return is 6 ft tall so if you measured from the point of the ceiling at 183 cm to the back wall, you might have a better idea of how doable that would be. It is not as good as a fully immersive impact screen as a lot of people here have, but if it were a dedicated room and indoors, it could be quite nice.

My setup is limited to a rooftop balcony so I have to take it apart and put it away anytime there is bad weather and am limited to a 15-inch laptop for my monitor, but I still enjoy the heck out of it.
