Alright, believe it or not, my wife is getting lukewarm to the idea of building a shed. The original concept was to build a garage, but after discussing with some friends who are contractors as well as my father who is a realtor, and the tax burden and increased costs through her off that project.
So here is the space. I'll be building a shed that is 16x24 outer dimensions sitting on concrete piers. 10ft height ceilings, with the potential to loft certain areas if I deem appropriate. The impact screen will likely be a 12x10 screen attached to a 2x4 frame.
Where I'm a little lost is sourcing some of the materials that make it a great simulator. I plan on only installing about 10-12 feet of the space with a grass-type carpet. What would you suggest for the flooring and type of carpeting? Do I raise the hitting portion of the floor up? Do I do a short throw projector that is on the ground in front of the hitting area?
I plan on recessing a Fiberbuilt 3x12 hitting strip into the floor.
What curtains do you use suggest batting from the ceiling? I was considering using peel and stick carpeting tiles on the ceiling near the impact screen to deflect any flop shots.
Sorry for all the questions, but I want to start building out a budget and punch sheet as I'll be doing all the building and fabrication myself. I like to be able to put together a pretty accurate budget before I get the full OK from my better half.
