    New Build - Ireland

    Hi All,

    My plan for simulator was looking like:

    Simulator: Skytrak - ordered
    PC: custom build gaming PC - in process
    Projector: Optoma GT1080E - ordered
    Additional software: TGC 2019 - let's wait until I've the skytrak first!!!
    Screen + enclosure + hitting mat: Ordered - I will be buying the metal frame myself & cutting to suit
    Additional flooring - A local hockey (field) is replacing their astro & I'm hoping to get my hands on a bit from the old turf, but being held up for the last while with Covid-19

    So a quick update as of today (Friday 22/05/20 sorry US friends for the date format).

    Skytrak arrived out of the blue today - was not expecting it with delays in delivery - brilliant surprise.
    Custom PC gear arrived today - building that this weekend = can give details of what I got if anyones interested.
    Poles for driving frame - I have
    Hitting screen, enclosure & hitting mat - due Monday (including fixings for the poles)
    Projector - I have, just waiting for screen to confirm placement
    Additional flooring, found a person on facebook who had just put fake grass down as their back garden & was selling the offcut - looks like it'll be perfect.

    So all in all should be hitting balls by middle of next week.
    I'll get some pictures of the assembly & finished set-up soon.

    Sounds great! what impact screen and Mat did you go for?

      Sounds great. When did you order the skytrak? Mine’s still on order! Also, I’d be interested in the spec for the gaming pc and your supplier? I’m planning on doing exactly the same when my skytrak arrives! Thanks....

        Hi Alex - with covid-19 and difficulty looking at different options I went with Golfbays.co.uk for the enlosure/screen & mat.

        Mat is 15mm foam & 15mm turf & will accept a Tee
        The enclosure is 2.5m x 2.5m x 1.3m (or 8'2" x 8'2" x 4'3")

          Hi Oneiron, I ordered my skytrak on 14th April - so with the current talk of 8 weeks etc I really wasn't expecting delivery.

          The PC - I used uk website overclockers.com - I bet as you know you can go wild with these things, but after a bit of thought and a totally blown budget!!!

            Thanks for that, I ordered my skytrak about 3 weeks after you so let’s home it’s not too much longer. I’ll take a look at the spec for the PC. I’m assuming that’s high end to ensure decent image. Where did you purchase your screen from and what did you go for?
