  • so many decisions

Well made a decision to go and purchase a GCQUAD. I still have so many decisions to go

where do I put it? Garage or finish the attic
both have pro's and cons- Garage has plenty of room but I would have to do a retractable system as the garage still needs to be a garage
Garage has 10' 6 " ceilings and a side mounted door opener( so much more room and quiet as heck)

Attic - 8' 1" at the flat spot on the joists. about 10 feet wide at the same spot. The room is much wider but angles with roof. I could raise the ceiling but then that 10 feet reduces to about 6-7 feet.
would be permanent but might not be best for size.

I would love to put it in the attic just not sure it is feasible. The room is 21 feet long and would be 18 feet eave to eave. Just not where I need it to be 9' 6" high.

Also what are you all using for your bounce back area so it allows for putting also?

i have attached a picture of the attic for reference

I think raising the beams would be fine - but you might need to hit offset to ensure the driver does not hit the sloped ceiling.
I definitely prefer having a permanent space, however, your garage sound like it is ready to go without any building work...might be the better option.

For bounce back area, I used a raised floor - 2by4s, plywood, underlay, putting turf. You might have a problem with that as you need all the height you can get.
Alternative, simply put underlay and putting turf down... you could even sink your cups into the floor as I assume you have a crawl space below the attic floor?

I'll put my vote towards the garage. Thats what I did and I'm currently in the process of high lifting my garage door and remounting my retractable screen in front of the door. The only real negative is that its not a dedicated simulator space.

I have a double wide door so the rails are not in the way unless I want to go sideways. I did move the opener and installed a jack drive though.
it is an easier option especially with the par2pro retractable screen and side screens. one push roll out some turf lay down your hitting area,
