New Project - Help

Hello everyone. New member here based in Italy. I'm planning to build a golf simulator in my basement.

The size of the room is (in meters): 3.40 (height), 3.30 (width) and 4.60 (depth, and 5.1 at the center).

My questions:

• Is the size of the room good adequate to accommodate my golf swing and the golf net and screen?
• Which simulator would you recommend based on a reasonable budget? The launch monitor should capture ball data and provide a good level of accuracy/performance. So far I’ve looked at SkyTrak and GC2 (used).
• Which software would you recommend?
• What type of matt should I use? Need something durable and easy on wrists/elbow.
• What type of golf net or simulator screen?

1. Your height is fine. Width is a little tight but can be done (just will have to be off-centered). Depth is a little small but still very doable.

2. On a reasonable budget, skytrak or mevo+

3. For software, TGC2019 or e6 (tgc is the better value)

4. For ease on joints, fiberbuilt is the popular mat option. But they are anything but cheap. Check out the mat section of this site. There's a lot of options.

5. Are you trying to go projector and screen or monitor and net? The depth is a little tight for a screen but you might be able to make it work. A net will easily work. Again, lots of options. Check out those respective areas of the site.

Thank you very much.I've been told that mevo+ is pretty inaccurate and skytrak is okeish. I'm worried about gettng inaccurate data because that would make me work in the wrong direction. What do you think? Thanks.

They are both very accurate. Proper setup is very important for both. The people that say they aren't accurate are the ones who are delusional about how far they actually hit the ball. If you want to upgrade you can, but it's a big difference in price.

agree with that - my width is 9.8ft and just about works. I find it a bit tight to swing a driver so prefer to opt for hybrids and long irons off the tee

I think a photo based LM would be required. The length is probably not enough by the time you build the screen out for Mevo+. Software wise it seems as though TGC2019 gives you the most bang for the buck. Everything relating to the build I suppose is subject to your ability to source in Italy. The mat I would choose in the US is likely unavailable in Italy, as an example.
