Morning everyone new member so be kind!! I've been give the go ahead of the Mrs to build a space for the simulator basically I'd like to know if it can be done within these dimensions 3m height 2.5m width and 3m depth basically it's long and thin I'm only a short arse and my full swing measures in at around 8ft I think it can be done with a bit of imagination what's everyone's thoughts??

With less than 10 feet of depth, the only way to maybe make it work would be to hit into a net and be practically right up against the net. And then with only 8 feet of width..... that's awfully small to be swinging a club. Maybe if you were hitting all the way from the side. Have you tried actually swinging a club in there yet? -
No I made a a mockup of the actual size and I can swing a club no problem in that spaceComment

For an impact screen, you generally need at least 6-7 feet from the screen to the ball plus a good 5 feet behind you, for a total of 11-12 feet. Plus some room behind the screen for some give. So I'd say an impact screen is likely out. But with a net you can be a little closer and probably get away with it. But you have to remember that a driver is almost 4 feet long, and with your arms extended out in a follow through it can reach almost 6 feet. Which then only leaves about 4 feet behind you. Again, doable. But awfully tight. Indoor swing syndrome would be tough to overcome.
A lot of people with smaller spaces just don't hit drivers or 3-woods. Some people can only hit as long as a 5-iron. On TGC, there's a ton of par 3 courses and a lot of courses with shorter sets of tees so you can still play regulation courses just teeing off with 5-irons or whatever. So that's an option if driver is out of the question.
If you can't hit real balls in there you could check out the R-motion as I'm pretty certain you can use that without a ball (or optishot).Last edited by 3on3putt; 06-20-2020, 06:41 PM.Comment
