    Working on my first garage build. I'm trying to decide between the Optoma HZ39HDR vs GT1090HDR. They look almost identical in spec with the primary difference being the distance from the screen. The garage is 11'6" high, projecting onto a 11' wide (not diagonal screen) and the sim is the Uneekor EyeXO which needs to sit 3.5ft away from the hitting area. Looking at the GT1090HDR it would need to sit 5.5ft away from the screen and drop down so it's 6.1ft off the floor. I'm assuming everyone has their screen start pretty much just off the floor? or alternatively there's the HZ39HDR which would need to be about 12' away from the screen and the same 6.1ft off the floor ceiling mounted. My question is which setup would be more ideal? I don't want some errant lobs to hit the short throw but also concerned about shadows with the regular HZ39HDR. We're not crazy tall (6') in height so I'm leaning towards the HZ39HDR but I'm some validation will help with peace of mind.

    I was at Uneekor's offices yesterday to get the specs on the EyeXO which I'll be installing. The EyeXO sites 3.5 ft. on the screen side of the ball. I have a BenQ short throw projector and that projector will be mounted on the ceiling approx. over the ball and just below the 9 ft that the bottom of the EyeXO will be located after I mount the bracket at 9.5ft. With the projector (BenQ model TH671ST) over the ball (so the ball is centered on the screen), there's no way to hit the projector with the golf club or the ball. However, the key is to NOT get a projector that needs to be 6 ft. off the floor. My projector (which I thought was common) will be mounted above the top of the screen and therefore, well out of the way. There's a setting on the projector to adjust for the distortion of being mounted over the screen. One advantage of a short throw projector is that since it's closer to the screen it's brighter and therefore, you can get a less expensive projector for the same effective brightness on the screen.
